Looking to get out of the house, catch up with old friends, and make some new ones?
Our Wednesday Senior Club is the absolute highlight of the week for roughly 50 of our amazing local members. For just €6, you get a full afternoon of food, fun, and entertainment in a warm, welcoming environment.
We Stay Open All Summer Long! Join us for good company, lunch, and fun activities. We know the summer months can feel incredibly long, and many senior clubs close down completely during July and August. St. Munchin’s doesn’t take a summer break. If your usual club is closed for the season, or if you’re just looking for somewhere lively to go, you are more than welcome to join our group. Our doors are open all year round!
The Wednesday Club Schedule
12:00pm — Lunch & dessert: We kick things off by sitting down together for a delicious, fresh hot lunch prepared right here by our chefs.
Bingo: Get your markers ready! We enjoy a brilliant, lively game of bingo with great prizes and plenty of friendly banter.
Our Sing-Song: We finish out the afternoon with a proper community sing-song, sharing favorite tunes and keeping the energy high before heading home at 4pm.
Meet Josephine, Our Older Persons’ Companion
Walking into a busy club for the first time can sometimes feel a bit daunting, which is why we are delighted to introduce Josephine, our new Older Persons’ Companion.
Josephine is here specifically to welcome you to the center and our activities, helping everyone feel completely at home from the moment they step through the door.
Our Friendly Call Service Josephine’s care doesn’t stop at the center doors. She also coordinates our Friendly Call Service. If you, a neighbor, or a loved one are spending more time at home and would appreciate a regular, friendly chat or a gentle check-in call over the phone, Josephine is here for you. Just let our team know, and we will get you set up.
Whether you’re looking to meet new people, enjoy an activity, or simply have a friendly chat over a cup of tea, our doors are open and we’d love to see you.
Our Monthly Dance
Once a month, our Wednesday Club goes all out! We transform the centre for our highly anticipated Monthly Dance. This isn’t just for our regular members – we proudly open our doors and invite the Irish Wheelchair Association and our neighboring senior clubs to join the party for live music, dancing, and great chats.
Driving Total Inclusion: The Able Table Project To make these gatherings even more accessible, we have recently applied for a dedicated grant to bring an Able Table to St. Munchin’s. This specialized, wheel-in accessible table will allow our members and visitors who use wheelchairs to sit comfortably and dine at the exact same level as everyone else, completely eliminating any barriers to inclusion. We are incredibly hopeful to secure this funding and keep making our centre a place where everyone fits in perfectly.
Sponsor a Smile
Our group day trips are the highlight of the year for our members, fighting isolation and bringing immense social joy. To keep these essential outings accessible to everyone, we pool our resources to cover the heavy costs of accessible transport etc. A €30 contribution goes directly into our collective trip fund, ensuring our entire group can travel together, stay connected, and leave no one behind at home.
Our Staff-Volunteered Sunday Christmas Party
Once a year, the festive spirit takes over completely for our annual Grand Christmas Party. Held on a Sunday, this massive celebration is incredibly close to our hearts because our dedicated staff completely volunteer their own personal time to host, cook, serve, and celebrate alongside our members.
The afternoon is packed with holiday magic: a spectacular, full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, brilliant live music, non-stop dancing, and a festive atmosphere where everyone lets their hair down. It is a beautiful day of pure connection and laughter, powered entirely by the love and volunteer spirit of the St. Munchin’s team giving back to the seniors who bring life to our center all year round.
