School Breakfast & Lunch Programme

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and reach their full potential and a healthy meal is an important part of that journey.

At St. Munchin’s Community Centre, we’re proud to partner with local primary schools to provide freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches for children across Limerick. Every meal is cooked daily by our qualified chefs in our professional, HACCP-compliant training kitchen using fresh, quality ingredients that children enjoy.

❤️ Made by Local People, for Local Children

What makes our school meal programme truly special is the people behind it. Every breakfast and lunch is prepared with care by local people who are passionate about supporting children and strengthening our community.

As a social enterprise, every meal served has a lasting impact. Every euro generated is reinvested back into St. Munchin’s Community Centre, helping to create local employment, support vital community services and improve the lives of people across Limerick.

By delivering nutritious meals directly to schools, we’re helping children stay focused, energised and ready to learn while giving families peace of mind that their children are enjoying a healthy, balanced meal each day.

When schools choose St. Munchin’s, they’re doing more than providing meals – they’re investing in their local community and helping to build a brighter future for the next generation.

What Our School Partners Say

"We are so indebted to Linda and her team who have provided a warm, nurturing environment and children are coming to school earlier and it’s one of the greatest examples of social enterprise I have ever seen."

Healthy, Tasty & Child Approved

We believe healthy food should also be food that children genuinely enjoy eating.

That’s why we create balanced, nutritious menus that meet the school meal guidelines while offering plenty of variety throughout the year. We regularly chat with children and ask what they’d like to see on the menu, because listening to their ideas helps us create meals they’re excited to eat.

Our qualified chefs use this feedback to develop delicious breakfasts and lunches that are both nutritious and appealing, making healthy eating something children can look forward to every day.

We also understand that every child is different. Whether it’s food allergies, dietary requirements, vegetarian options or cultural preferences, we’re committed to providing inclusive meal choices so that every child can enjoy mealtimes with confidence.

Supporting Families & the Elderly at Christmas

At St. Munchin’s Community Centre, we know that the need for support doesn’t end when the school term finishes. For many families, Christmas can be a particularly challenging time, with extra costs putting added pressure on already stretched household budgets.

That’s why, every December, our team prepares and delivers Christmas Care Packages to local families & the elderly. Each package is thoughtfully put together with essential food items, festive treats and seasonal essentials to help make Christmas that little bit easier.

More than just a hamper, each care package is a reminder that no family is alone. It’s our way of sharing kindness, offering support and helping ensure that children and parents across our community can enjoy a brighter, happier Christmas.

Thanks to the generosity of the church, partners and volunteers, we’re able to bring a little extra comfort, hope and festive cheer to families who need it most.
